Care & Maintenance

Easy Care. CaesarStones quartz surfaces never need sealing and require very little maintenance to keep them looking like new. The hard, non-porous surface makes cleaning simple. In most cases, soap and water or a mild detergent are all that are required to maintain its luster. For extra-stubborn spills we recommend using CaesarStone Cream Cleanser.

Taking Care of Your Quartz Surface
CaesarStone quartz surfaces blend modern sophistication and timeless luxury with unbeatable strength and durability. The ever-lasting finish requires only simple and routine care to maintain its good looks. To clean CaesarStone, we recommend using warm water and a mild detergent or quality spray and wipe type cleaner in order to enjoy enduring beauty and unmatched performance for years to come.

Minimal Maintenance
Virtually maintenance-free, CaesarStones hard, non-porous surfaces require no sealing to renew the luster and are simple to clean. In most cases, soap and water or a mild detergent is enough to keep your CaesarStone countertop looking like new. If necessary, use a non-abrasive soft soap along with a non-scratch or delicate scrub pad. Afterwards, thoroughly rinse with clean water to remove residue.

Stubborn Stains or Dried Spills
If needed, apply a non-abrasive household cleaner (a non-abrasive cleaner will not dull the surface shine) and rinse to remove residue. To remove adhered material such as food, gum, nail polish or even dried paint, first scrape away excess material with a plastic putty knife and then use a damp cloth to remove any marks or residual dirt. For extra-stubborn stains, a no-scratch Scotch-Brite pad is recommended along with the non-abrasive cleaner recommended by your local CaesarStone distributor.

Heat Tolerance
CaesarStone is more heat resistant than other stone surfaces including most granite, marble, and limestone; and is not affected by temperatures lower than 100C (212F). However, like all stone material, CaesarStone can be damaged by sudden and rapid temperature changes. Therefore, we suggest that hot pots and pans never be directly placed on the surface. We also recommend a hot pad or trivet be placed on the surface under cooking units such as electric frying pans, crock pots, or roaster ovens.

Scratch Resistant
CaesarStone is a highly scratch resistant surface; however avoid abuse of the surface by refraining from using sharp objects such as sharp knives or screw drivers directly onto the surface.

Cleaning Agents to Avoid

It is important to be aware that like any other surface, CaesarStone can be permanently damaged if exposed to strong chemicals and solvents that can damage its physical properties. Never clean your CaesarStone surface with products that contain Trichloroethane or Methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers. Avoid the use of highly aggressive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH 8.5 or higher). Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue and should be rinsed off thoroughly. Should your surface accidentally be exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse immediately with clean water to neutralize the effect.

Essastone is the pinnacle of engineered stone. With up to 95% natural quartz and an exceptional 15-year limited warranty, it’s a luxurious choice.

routine care and maintenance
For routine cleaning, use small quantities of non-bleach, non-abrasive cleaners together with warm water and a damp cloth or sponge. Liquid spills including fruits, vegetables, food colourings and curries, should be wiped up and cleaned with a mild detergent and water immediately after detection.

preventing heat damage
Protective trivets and heat pads must always be used underneath cookware such as skillets, saucepans, pots or dishes when removing hot items directly from any heat source (oven cooktop or microwave) and placing onto the Essastone surface. Prolonged or sudden extreme temperature changes can permanently damage the material which is not covered under warranty.

preventing scratches
The use of cutting boards and taking care not to drop or move heavy objects on the surface will help to ensure the long-lasting beauty of Essastone. Essastones resilient surface has been designed to withstand normal daily use and whilst it is resistant to scratches, cuts and chipping, cutting directly on the Essastone surface should be avoided.

chemicals
There are some strong chemicals and solvents that can cause damage to Essastone. Paint remover, paint and stain strippers, nail polish removers, bleach, furniture cleaners, oil soaps, permanent markers or inks, oven cleaners, drain cleaners and chemicals with high alkaline pH levels are examples of products that could damage the surface. If a strong chemical or solvent comes into contact with your Essastone surface, rinse immediately with plenty of water then follow with normal cleaning procedures.

removing difficult spills and stains
If normal cleaning procedures do not work on stubborn or dried spills, use a non-abrasive cleaning pad such as a household sponge, along with a common mild cream cleanser or a glass and surface cleaner. Should chewing gum, nail polish, or similar substances adhere to the surface, they can be removed with a plastic scraper. Gently scrape off the substance, then follow the routine cleaning procedures listed above.

note: Should paint spots or stains persist after following the above procedures then, as a last alternative, the spot use of acetone may be successful. Testing on an inconspicuous area first is highly recommended.

general comments
Essastone requires no sealing or special cleaning products. Essastone is made from natural quartz, therefore variations in colour and patterns may occur. Small surface spots and blotches are typical in engineered quartz surfaces.

We do not recommend placing very hot items (such as saucepans and oven pots) directly on any stone based bench top surface, as this will cause extreme THERMAL SHOCK in the slab due to stone bench top is heat resistant up to between 150 and 200 temperature, Damage may not be noticed immediately if this is done regularly, however over time hairline cracks may appear reducing the strength of the product.

Do not use chemical products for cleaning such as acid like chemicals, Jif on your new bench top as this can cause a scum build up eventually taking way the high gloss finish that granite & marble achieves.

Lighter coloured granites will be more prone to staining than darker ones. Wiping spills immediately will help avoid most potential staining. Your bench top is sealed with water-resistant sealer after installation. We recommend your bench top could be sealed again after few months later in order to high level of porosity and, the, periodically re-sealing granite according to the sealer’s instruction.

Products such as coffee, red wine, cooking oils, butter, lemon juice, tomatoes and anything else acidic should be wiped off the bench top as soon as possible. Take care to use the proper cleaning agents; those that are ammonia based can etch the granite and dull its polish.

Do not use near radiators or naked flames as dangerous gas is formed. Vapours are harmful to your health with prolonged exposure. Keep away from any sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid breathing vapour or spray mist.

While cutting directly on granite surfaces will not affect the large majority of granites, cutting boards are recommended to avoid quickly knives. Repeated use of a knife in the same place on a granite bench top eventually wears down the polish.

Be careful of the weak part of the kitchen bench tops, for example the front & back of sink and cook top parts. Do not press down those parts because they are easy crack or break.

Note that door threshold surface is slippery when wet. Care should be taken to promptly remove liquids or foreign materials that might result in safety hazards before permitting pedestrian traffic.

Although granite is a solid and strong material it will not expand or contract to any measurable degree and therefore should not be subjected to excessive weight, stress or extreme temperatures. This can cause granite to fracture crack as a workbench!

Any damage to the bench top due to incorrect use or abuse will be excluded from the warranty.
